Hi! I'm Amelia!
And I'm so glad you're here. I designed a private daycare experience for small and medium-sized dogs because I understand wholeheartedly that peace of mind for your dog's wellbeing and happiness is simply paramount. It's my passion and delight to learn your dog's needs, preferences, and style of communication to help them flourish in my care and in life at large. I'm proud to be well versed in the realm of dog to dog communication, and I use this knowledge to serve my clients and their dogs every single day.
I recognize that dogs approach social interactions in vastly different ways. Some appreciate time and space to air scent at a distance before meeting new dog friends. Others pups may enjoy a game of chase but become quickly overwhelmed when any body wrestling starts and need support from me in communicating their feelings effectively. These examples could go on forever, because each dog, along with their genetics and set of past social experiences, is 100% unique.
By coming to know each dog thoroughly, I've created a space that does not only help dogs in my care to thrive physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. It's my mission to offer a more comfortable, and peaceful environment compared to a traditional style daycare. One where your pup can truly blossom and practice healthy habits — both in mind and body.
Professionally working with dogs for over 8 years, I founded Pomeroy Pup Pack in 2022, though my passion for all-things-dogs was blazing strong far earlier than that. My journey began in 2012 with training Service Dogs for American Poodles at Work before going on to foster for shelter organizations. These opportunities allowed me to be exposed to an array of dog temperaments, including social butterflies, timid wallflowers, and everything in between. From tagging along as a little girl with my grandfather, a renowned expert in the hunting world of Springer Spaniels, to studying animal care in college, every dog experience I encountered only further solidified my adoration for the species as a whole. In my later teen years, I was privileged to gain deep hands on experience with hundreds of different dogs over the course of five years while working at The Grinning Dog, a daycare and boarding facility in the valley.
Today, I am committed to learning more about the domesticated dogs we call our own in order to better understand and support their intricate and specific needs. Pomeroy Pup Pack began as a dog hiking service specializing in training off-leash recall. By fencing in over 1/2 an acre of our property, I'm able to bridge the gap between the most enriching parts of endless outdoor fun while also offering a climate controlled indoor space for increased comfort.
When I'm not in my element moving through nature with groups of dogs, I'm spending time with my husband and our precious twin daughters, sipping chai tea under a blanket, and baking goodies in the oven. Even during my "free time", I'm likely to still be found out walking my own two lovely dogs, Yogi and Flicka... my commitment to dogs extends well beyond my business - it's an entire lifestyle!
